Magic Patterns is an amazing tool that some how is better at understanding conventional UX design conventions that other products dont do quite as well. It's an amazing starting point to quickly validate ideas and usability and very good at copying existing UI. Its can also create markdowns which are handy for the dev handover if you're working on something brownfield.

What needs improvement

The ability to give it a file with code already in it and for it to read that like an IDE, not sure if this already exists, Magic Patterns is a great starting point for all new ideas but sometimes the designer has to design directly in the same codebase as the engineers - having MP read this as oppose to a prompt might mean it would us the components stying already in the app/website.

vs Alternatives

Claude Design

The others focus more on single screen UI (which is not really what UX designers need) UX designer and product designers have to create a full loop of an interaction, I find Magic Patterns is better at creating more holistic design patterns than the others.

I've spent 1-2 months exploring actually useful AI applications for product designers who want to quickly spin out UX/UI artefacts. Save yourself the time on the bloatware bullshit that exists in market, this is the real deal. I am very, very impressed. Been in design for over 10 years, this is the first AI application that has positively impacted my workflow. The special call out here is the formatting of the designs when exporting to Figma. The layers are properly organised, properly stacked and easy to adjust. Other apps out there like Uizard give you a wall of nonsense that takes infinitely longer to sift through than just building it out yourself. Well done team.

So far, this is a brilliant tool. I've designed multiple mockups using Canva, then I simply upload those mockups into Magic Patterns and... BOOM! Fully fledged prototype. I'm using MP so that I can design prototypes for my dev team. This makes collaboration a lot more productive, as they can fully understand the context and flow of problems that need to be solved and features to be implemented.

I have been trying a couple of text to design tools like Stitch, Framer, and then Magic Patterns. It does think comprehensively before putting a design together. TBH, Magic Patterns is build for PM's to learn this new skill without a steep learning curve. and is very intuitive.
