Hey everyone 👋, I'm Vishal and I'm very excited to reveal Makey to you guys today. It's a one-stop solution that supercharges your makefiles and enhances your CI/CD experience. How did it start ? While working on projects I often had to create makefiles for different purposes such as build, test, deployment etc. Having makefile is great, but its execution never felt smooth. First you look for your makefile, then look for the command and finally copy-paste it along with make command in your terminal. It's a bit too much for a simple task. So I looked for solutions and found some plugins/extensions, but they all felt half-baked and sketchy. So I decided to build one myself. How it works ? Makey works by scanning all the makefiles in your workspace and the commands within, and provides you all that information and power to execute inside a dedicated view. It also tracks any changes made to the makefiles and keeps the view updated. Makey also provides you a CodeLens that allows inline command execution while exploring any makefile. How to use it ?
