@rrhoover Yup - I think micro-podcasts are a perfect description. I think the same way Twitter unlocked micro-blogging, Melt fits for micro-podcasting. Also, voice seems to click for users who want to express themselves in a way text just can't capture.
And yes, completely agree with makeshift prototypes.
@rrhoover that's interesting. I wonder if that would be more encouraging or discouraging. People may be frightened to even open the recording screen! Perhaps a good middle ground of this is that once you're done recording, it goes straight to the share screen for you to give it a caption. That way, users can go back and re-record if they want, but it's a bigger hurdle to do so.
When I think of messaging with voice recordings, Voxer, Wechat, and Whatsapp. The way I'm looking at it now is that in the future we can do this but in the immediate future with limited time and resources we should pick one to focus on, and I think the follower model needs to be explored.
And of course - I'm always open to hear your thoughts, feedback, and ideas. This is way more helpful than you could imagine.
