Thanks for your insights :) Once a meme is owned, you may choose to monetise from it, buy putting up your meme for an auction (coming soon) or / and also you may choose to have ads on your unique meme link (https://www.memeschain.com/meme/1) and earn revenues from that. Putting up an extremely small cap on each meme owned, deters people from just plagiarising every meme they see on the web.

I love the idea in terms of demonstrating the possibilities and capabilities of blockchain, but in terms of monetising memes, one could argue that's philosophically opposed to how the internet has evolved. People don't want any barrier-to-entry in terms of being able to express themselves, even if it benefits the original creator (and let's remember that memes by their very nature benefit from constant adjustment by individual interactions - the examples provided above are adaptations of existing memes rather than purely original creations from scratch). It's like putting a tax on the use of language when you're talking to your friends. Better perhaps would be to use blockchain to ensure memes have traceability baked-in, and so if people want to monetise, their profile and creations can be easily found via a simple click on the meme. As advertisers increasingly target an audience that has grown up with memes as part of their language, people who have provably created popular meme-content could see themselves sought out and commissioned.

@mackflavelle Hi Mack, The v1 website design (some of it) and the explanation of what blockchain is to the masses was inspired by CK cos it brought the idea of blockchain to the masses in a very elegant way. Im a huge CK fan! But inherently the functionality is different - and based on this amazing response to the concept, I will update the design to be more different in a day or two.
