If you're a producer, band or engineer who has ever struggled with getting mixes to translate across devices, then you need MixMatch. EQ on the fly from your car, or anywhere else outside the studio. First time launch on Product Hunt so I'm interested to see what happens. Like many sound engineers and musicians I'd found it tricky at times to get my mixes sounding good in the car or on other speakers when I took the music out of the studio. Alongside that, everyone involved in the project had an opinion on what needed changing. I'd then end up going backwards and forwards over Whatsapp, scrolling through chats, trying to find change requests. It took forever. Even then, once a song was put out, everyone also had an opinion on which mix was the better one, or which track should have been put out next. MixMatch addressed those pain points for me and on the back of that, after some refining and user testing, I decided to see if it might work for others too. As well as managing alteration comments and allowing fans and collaborators to vote on preferred mixes, its major functionality lies in the ability to EQ on the fly and apply those changes with a single click. This means you can sit in your preferred listening environment (such as your own car) and make the changes that will stop mixes from ending up too muddy or too harsh when you finally listen back to it outside of the studio environment. Whilst there are emulation plug-ins out there that can simulate various environments, only you know how a song should sound on a system you listen to day in day out. MixMatch lets you EQ whilst sat in that specific environment. The service is pitched towards bedroom producers and bands on a budget. It's been bootstrapped and I'm just developing it further based on feedback and user requests. Eventually I'll look to turn it into a native app, but for now it is web based which actually works for people like me who are generally producing music on their DAW from a desktop or laptop and exporting mixdowns on there. Feedback from people who work in music/audio production is very much welcome. I'm not claiming it's the finished article and development is an ongoing process. Finally launching MixMatch on Monday 30th March

Hi Product Hunt,

Not too sure what to expect on here. I've been working on MixMatch for around a year now, sharing it with a few friends and fellow sound engineers and musicians. I'd be interested to know if there are other sound engineers on here who have difficulty with getting mixes to translate across environments and whether any room emulators have truly solved the problem for you.

For me, I really needed to just take my mixes with me and EQ on the spot, on systems that I actually spend a lot of time listening to music. Quite often people think a track they have worked on sounds wrong simply because their studio in which they mixed or mastered it isn't actually the place where they spend the most amount of time listening to commercial releases.
