Mosaic is a calming pixel art app for kids ages 2–7. Inspired by wooden pegboards, it helps children develop creativity, focus, and fine motor skills—especially those with ADHD or sensory needs. No ads, no noise—just quiet, hands-on-style play.
Fourteen years ago, when the first iPad came out, I built an app for my son.
Back then, I didn’t know he was on the autism spectrum.
To me, he was just a quiet, gentle child—shy around people, but endlessly focused when playing with patterns or small objects.
He loved his wooden pegboard. He could spend ages placing tiny pins into place, one by one, fully immersed. So I tried to recreate that calming experience on a screen. That’s how Mosaic was born.
It was the first app I ever made—simple, silent, and soothing. No ads. No noise. Just a blank board, a few colors, and space to create.
He loved it. And for the first time, screen time actually made him more focused and calm—not less. Years later, when we got the diagnosis (Level 1 autism), everything clicked.
Since then, Mosaic has quietly helped thousands of families—especially those with neurodivergent children. Parents often tell me: “This is the only app my child can use without getting overstimulated.”
Today, Mosaic has a fresh new design—but the heart is still the same.
It’s still quiet. Still beautiful. Still built for children who think and feel deeply—and just need a peaceful space to create.
We kept the warm, tactile feeling that made it special—the colors, the natural textures, the way it feels like placing real wooden pegs. Even on a screen, Mosaic invites kids to slow down, focus, and enjoy the process of making something with their hands.
