Hey Product Hunt 👋 I've had this project hidden away somewhere in my computer for a couple of years now, so I decided I might as well try to polish it up a bit and share it with the world. It's a motion graphics editor like After Effects, but modeled after tools like Canva or Kapwing, with an asset browser that you can use to search for images, videos, and more to add into your project. The way it works is very simple. Drop your assets into the canvas, position them however you like, and enable animation by clicking on the clock icon on the layers (or individual properties if you prefer). You create new keyframes automatically by seeking to a time point and changing the properties of the layer. I wrote up a bit of a guide in Notion that you can check out here. Here are some of its features: ⚡️ Keyframing with custom easing 🎚 Image and video filters (adjustments, blur, chroma key...) ✂️ Trim and cut videos 👀 Layer masking 🔊 Audio support 🔍 Search for images, videos, shapes and more ✨ Text animation (typewriter, scale, fade...) 💥 Lottie support 🧩 Pixabay integration ...and much more - all for free & no sign in needed! I shared a lot of my progress building this editor in my newsletter, if you're curious. Ultimately while I had a lot of plans for it, I realized that it was far too challenging to work with the old and outdated codebase, and I would have had to rewrite the whole thing from zero using some framework to make any substantial progress with it. So I decided to just launch it as is, for free and without any fancy gimmicks. The code is available on GitHub if you'd like to contribute to Motionity, self-host it, or build your own motion graphics editor.

The world of accessible content making platforms these days is crazy. Where was all this years ago when I needed the most. @alyssaxuu this looks super impressive but what would you say is your main strength compared to other browser based platforms out there that do similar things?

@florin_biro Thanks! I think there aren't that many tools out there that have motion graphics functionality in, with keyframing specifically. Most of the animation tools available use presets and templates, so you don't have full freedom. The few ones that do tend to be oriented towards experts, mine is meant to be for everyone, using a similar UI to Canva or Kapwing which a lot of users are used to. You can simply search for assets you like, drag them in, and just position them around at different points in time to automatically animate them, that simple.

I remember when you made Omni 8 months ago. I commented asking about raycast and you said that's only for mac while yours is for chrome. I also saw your other stuff from before and liked the chrome screen recorder one as well. Man 8 months have flew by and you are still creating some awesome stuff. I am impressed. Is there an interview or AMA you did about yourself? I want to know how come up with such ideas and have the drive to implement them. I have many ideas myself but struggle with executing them.
