As I aim to explore every nation, I often grapple with a decision when planning visits to less touristy destinations: either risk meeting locals who may only have a Facebook page, or resort to first-world travel agencies that simply act as middlemen with local agencies, often inflating prices significantly. For instance, in Syria, my local guide revealed that these first-world agencies could mark up prices by up to 70%, just for making contact. 🤯
What I seek is a way to connect directly with credible local agencies without the hefty price tag.

Are you looking into switching to a marketplace model in the future or will you keep it as a curated directory to keep the quality of the guides as high as possible?

@mrasero, thank you for your kind reply. I am considering the marketplace option, but it seems challenging for some local agents to use it due to issues like limited internet bandwidth, state bans, and a long list of other cases. I will consider it closer, thanks Miguel 🙏

@victormolla14, thank you for your comment. I have often been deterred from traveling to certain countries due to this issue: the dilemma of overpaying versus the risk of encountering problems with local services. I hope this project will be helpful in addressing that concern 😊
