Making friends as an adult is hard. MyNextFriend makes it simple: meet new people in small groups in your city online first, then connect in real life with the people you choose.

Hi everyone 👋,
I’m Alex, founder of MyNextFriend. I built it because making new friends as an adult is way harder than it should be, especially after moving to a new city, after 30, after kids… you get the idea.
Most of us wish we had more close friends. But loneliness is becoming a modern epidemic — we spend hours on social apps, yet still feel disconnected. Dating apps are everywhere, but if you just want friends, it’s hard to know where to start. In a city, it feels weird to just walk up to people. At the gym, it’s the same. And you never know if they even want to meet new people, if you have things in common, or if you’d have anything to talk about.
With MyNextFriend, it’s simple: everyone who joins is there to meet new people. Groups start with people close in age, from the same city, with shared interests — so your chances are much higher to actually find people you click with. People you might grab a coffee with later, help each other, share advice, and build real friendships that make life better.
Here’s how it works:
– Every Thursday at 7PM, small groups of 3–5 people meet online for 45 minutes
– You’re matched by city, age, and interests
– At the end of each call, you can choose (anonymously) who you’d like to see again. If they feel the same, we connect you so you can meet offline — for a coffee, a walk, or anything else.
It’s not about endless scrolling or swiping. It’s about giving you a shortcut to find the people you’d actually enjoy spending time with.
I’d love your feedback:
What would make this experience exciting enough for you to join?
What topics would you like to discuss with someone new?
I’ll be here all day answering questions, sharing more about how it works, and listening to your ideas. Thanks so much for checking it out!
