What's great
it does exactly one thing and does it well - you type and it formats the page to look like an actual book as you go, so the manuscript never feels like a wall of plain text sitting in a text box. minimal UI means there's nothing to fiddle with, which is the whole point for getting a rough draft down instead of tweaking settings
What needs improvement
not clear from the listing whether there's any version history if you want to go back to an earlier pass, or if it's meant to be a one-way rough draft tool only. worth spelling out on the product page either way
vs Alternatives
looked at Scrivener before, but it's built for organizing a huge project with a lot of structure up front. neo is the opposite bet - it assumes you just want words on the page and worry about structure later

If I ever write my autobiography, I want to use the writing app from the writer of Silo.
No squiggly lines! It sounds silly but when writing those really are distracting, going from creative flow to "whoops I need to correct the misspelling" and the mindset changes.
I hope the Amazon publisher integration update is next but kudos on formatting for it.
Lots of potential, I will give it a fair trial from writing to publish. Congrats on the launch!
@sara_dph the squiggly line thing is the real one. anything that makes you look at the text as an object instead of a draft pulls you out, and spellcheck is just the loudest version of it. what i'm still turning over is whether seeing it formatted like a book while you draft does the same thing in a nicer costume.
