Hey PH! 👋 It's me again, Roland. If you are a Digital Nomad, you might wonder where you can find those other Digital Nomad folks. Sure, you could just go to Uluwatu and go to any café there and you will meet many of this species 😃 Fortunately, not everyone is constantly in Bali. Many Digital Nomads are traveling around the world constantly - which makes them nomads, right? 😊 But where exactly are those Digital Nomads? I was sitting in many cafés while I was traveling but could not really find or get in touch with others. I was sitting in place A while others were sitting in place B, C or D. And not everyone is working from Co-working spaces since many do not really offer any greater value than a café or a day spa where you can work, relax, eat and drink. So I created NomadWith.me, which is a very simple web app that allows you to "check-in" your location, provide some basic details about yourself and show your avatar on a world map. In addition you can tell others what you like to talk about and how your mood is today and how they can recognize you. Sharing the location is free for everyone. However, if you want to see the exact locations of others, you can upgrade your account to Contributor, which is only a very small fee of $1 per month. Also included in the Contributor plan is the feature that whenever you check-in and someone is nearby, those people will get notified and can check your location. @wowwowlubov Thanks for your comment! Since it is for Digital Nomads, they are open to "go where the people are" anyway. I basically scratched my own itch with it. For me personally, it is just enough to "know" that person ABC is sitting in the café across the street. So, knowing this will make me wanna move to this café and strike up a conversation in real life. It is all about meeting other people - not necessarily to communicate via the app. In fact, the app does not even provide any kind of communication channel (so far, let's see how this develops)

@wowwowlubov And using the map makes it much easier to actually strike up a conversation because you already know that the person at place ABC wants to talk about - let's say - tax-free life. So, this person is open to talk and you can just go there and say "Hey, you are Matt, right? I saw your profile on NomadWith.me. How do you live a tax-free life?". You have an instant topic to talk about and the barrier to actually start a conversation is more or less erased 😊

@kehui_guo Go for it! Just do it, it's gonna be fine and fun! And yes, it is very crucial to know where fellow DN's are. Not everyone is sitting in Bali 😊 Just make sure to check-in a more specific location, not only "Phuket, Thailand". This info is already nice but you should tell others that you are in café XYZ. Just use a nickname if you don't like your name publicly visible 💙

Congratulations on the launch! This is quite interesting. Have you thought about collaborating with some other popular communities for Digital Nomads? The biggest value of this platform can be achieved with a lot of traffic. And it can be a nice addition to some of the popular Digital Nomad communities so it's a win-win.

This is so nice! I believe it can also benefit people working from home. Sometimes it's challenging to meet new people or find new places to work from. As an introvert, I am not sure to jump in yet but I love to see it's available!

This is a great idea for connecting digital nomads! How do you ensure user privacy and safety when sharing location data? Are there any plans to integrate this with existing nomad communities or coworking spaces? Congrats on the launch!

@kyrylosilin That is totally up to the user. You can just share your basic info on the map like what you are wearing today, you can also use a nickname, or any avatar to be "safe" if this a concern. The main idea behind is to tell people around that you actually exist and that you are willing to talk, connect, chat, drink, smoke, date - whatever floats your boat :). Providing basic information about yourself also helps other people to actually start talking to you if they already know that they can talk to you.

@kyrylosilin Regarding integration: for co-working spaces it is not really necessary because every DN knows more or less that you can meet other DN in co-working spaces. What I found during my travels is that soooo many are just sitting somewhere. In a day spa, in cafés, restaurants, bars, even massage places offer nice seating and food. But those places are not really the place where you would expect others to be. DN life is not only about Co-working spaces. They don't even offer real value compared to other places that are not "designed" to be a working space.
