I built Notenz during a deeply personal moment of self-organization after a major health problem. As I started putting my life in order, I found myself asking a difficult question: if something happened to me, how would my family know where everything is? My digital keys, personal content, investments, passwords, government IDs, logins, pension details, insurance documents, and everything else that quietly hold a life together, where would they even begin? The truth hit me hard: they would have no clue what exists, where to look, or how to access any of it. I looked for something that could solve this in a simple, trustworthy way. Not something that depended on a manual approval at the wrong moment, and not something limited to legal documents alone. I wanted something that could quietly monitor this problem in the background and, if I were no longer able to respond, ensure the right information reached the right people. I couldn’t find it, so I built Notenz. Notenz is my attempt to turn a very human fear into something practical, calm, and useful. It’s about more than passwords or files. It’s about reducing confusion, stress, and helplessness for the people you care about during one of the hardest moments of their lives. It’s still early, and I’m continuing to improve it, but it’s already solving a real problem that became very real for me.
