How does it handle locations with extreme latitudes where the sun barely changes angle through the seasons, like near the Arctic Circle?
@ezgiirru It clamps the calculated panel tilt to a practical 0°–90° range, but does not apply a special polar-region adjustment.
How does it account for shading from nearby buildings or trees when calculating the tilt angles, or is it purely based on the sun's position relative to the address?
@astambuse84875 The calculator is currently based on the sun’s position and the location’s latitude, so it doesn’t account for shading from nearby buildings or trees. More advanced shading and site-analysis features could definitely be developed, but those would be better suited to a paid/pro version rather than the free calculator, given the additional data and processing required.
Finally a tool that just gives you the tilt angle without trying to upsell you on installation services. Works great for my address, gave me monthly adjustments I never thought to ask for.
