OpenIran is an open source platform for monitoring the conflict around Iran in real time. It brings key signals like strikes, internet connectivity, aviation, and news into one live system, with more signals planned over time. What makes it different is that it is built as a public, high-signal platform for everyone: developers, journalists, researchers, families, and anyone trying to follow the conflict without relying on scattered or biased coverage.

Hi everyone, I'm Arman, the maker of OpenIran.
I built OpenIran because I have family in Iran and wanted a clearer way to follow what was happening as the conflict escalated. The information environment felt fragmented, noisy, delayed, and often biased. There are also internet outages and other signals that traditional media doesn't track well, even though they matter a lot for people trying to stay in touch with family and friends within the country.
The goal with OpenIran is to create an open-source platform that makes conflict monitoring in Iran more legible. The first version brings together several high-signal lenses, including strikes, internet connectivity, aviation, and news into one live system. Over time, I want it to grow into a broader public platform with many more signals layered in.
I'd love feedback on two things in particular:
1. What signals would you want added next?
2. What would make this more useful or trustworthy for you?
