OpenVox is a local TTS app built exclusively for Apple Silicon Macs. Everything runs on-device, no cloud, no account, no subscriptions. It supports 600+ languages through OmniVoice, with five models to choose from depending on your needs. Voice cloning lets you create a voice from a short reference recording, voice design lets you describe a voice in text and generate it from scratch, and AI Voice Changer transforms your live voice in real time. AI Audiobook mode handles EPUB and PDF Audiobooks.

Hey everyone!
I run a YouTube channel reviewing AI tools for creators, and one thing kept frustrating me: local TTS is either a pain to set up or locked behind expensive subscriptions. Neither works well for non-technical creators.
So 3 months ago I built OpenVox to fix that for myself, and eventually decided to put it on the Mac App Store.
It runs models like Kokoro, Qwen3 TTS, and Chatterbox fully on-device. No API key, no subscription, no data leaving your machine. Beyond basic TTS it also does voice cloning, voice design, voice conversion, and audiobook generation, all without touching the terminal.
It is not perfect. There are rough edges and things I am still working on. But the core user experience, install and start generating in under a minute, works well and I am genuinely proud of that.
If you try it, I would love honest feedback on:
- Voice quality vs cloud tools you already use
- Anything that felt confusing or broken
- Features you would actually use
I will be here all day. Thanks for checking it out.
