Ozlo Looks interesting. But from the video on the Ozlo home page, I am seeing that most of the user inputs are coming from the displayed option buttons. Wondering how well it handle natural language queries?
@amarnathrevanna right now Ozlo understand typed input about 70% of the time. Once we have a few thousand people using Ozlo for a few months, we will have the data to drive that quality up very quickly.
Also it's important to note that the suggestions (option buttons) we show are actually just accelerators. You can say anything similar to the suggestions you see and it will generally work.

@okito -- >> Is it only for Apple users? I'm in the waiting list, but i have an android mobile... so could you kindly confirm that? Good luck, demo looked great...
@raminjpr Hi Ram! Ozlo is only available for iOS at the moment. We will be expanding to other platforms and channels soon. Don't worry - once your invite is activated, you will still be able to use it to sign up when those other platforms available.
I've been a lucky early user of Ozlo and I find myself going straight to Ozlo more and more. It was one of those "ah ha moments" for me that made me realize what a crappy experience I'de been putting up with whenever I cross-referenced Yelp/Google Maps to find a nearby coffee shop or place to eat. Very excited to see where things go from here! Congrats to the team on getting this out there. (Disclosure: Greylock is an investor.)
@okito, @michealrhanson, @johnnyxu, really awesome. Amazing execution on the overall design, the experience feels very thoughtful. I would almost call the experience soothing and calming. What I find interesting is that you guys aren't rebuilding the wheel with regards to inventory but rather leveraging the existing stuff and making it so much more useful and relevant when I need it. The tech's not bad either ;)
@okito@michaelrhanson Looks like Ozlo could be incredibly helpful and if he learns quickly to improve personalization he could become a go to AI bot. I signed up to meet Ozlo and to give him a try. Nice execution so far.
This is the first time I've really seen AI look friendly and approachable. I'm looking forward to my ticket being activated and giving Ozlo a try. Really great product presentation.
I just downloaded a played with Ozlo. Love the branding. 😊
The big challenge with any service that recommends things is context and trust. It's unclear why I should trust Ozlo's recommendations more than Yelp, Foursquare, or existing services. Super curious to hear more of your thoughts on this aspect of Ozlo (and recommendations in general), @okito.
@rrhoover Thanks Ryan! A couple of things:
First, everything Ozlo knows comes from reading the reviews of the providers you already know – like Yelp and Foursquare. And he quotes his sources, so you don't have to give those up. You can use Ozlo to get a list of places and easily tap through to read the reviews from the providers you already know and trust.
On top of the usual suspects, Ozlo also reads reviews from less common sources like Michelin, Thrillist, The Infatuation, and TripAdvisor. And he links all this together to answer questions you would normally need to go to several apps to work out yourself.
For example, let's say you want Pliny the Elder and a burger. Normally you might need to hit up several sites to figure out which restaurants have both of these (and are good). Ozlo will just tell you (Monks Kettle) and let you easily tap through.

More to the point, food and drink is just the beginning for us. Ozlo is capable of learning with the same fidelity about any topic area we choose to feed him. Our goal isn't to replace Yelp or Foursquare – we want to become a new way for people to discover and use their excellent content on the phone in a way that doesn't conflict with their business models (like web search often does.)
To try this yourself, ask Ozlo: "I want Pliny the elder and a burger"
