Hey @pablo_sanzo, congrats on the launch. There is unfortunately an ecosystem on LinkedIn and X that tries to sell paid upvotes. We actively detect and remove inauthentic votes. In addition, votes from members with a strong track record in the community carry more weight, so purchased upvotes almost never affect rankings. If we detect clear patterns of vote gaming, we take action in line with our guidelines (up to un-featuring or deleting a launch).
@mikekerzhner Thank you so much for sharing the detail of how you try to combat it (even at the risk of showing it to "the bad guys"; it will always be a bit of a "cat-and-mouse" situation I guess...).
I take your word that "purchased upvotes almost never affect rankings", and I'm at peace on this topic now.
Thanks so much again for chipping in, and restoring my trust in PH as a place for the little guys to share our little things (and have a fair chance at visibility, if they are any good).
@pablo_sanzo Product Hunt authenticity is maybe the most important part of Product Hunt? If you have any suggestions on how to improve/maintain it, I am all ears.

@mikekerzhner are you currently punishing accounts that you validate with confidence that have purchased votes?
Some players are telling me it should have a distance counter and a leaderboard; what do you think? 🤔
Nice idea! I felt like the plane is going to fall, but it continue to smoothly go down 😅
@rajiv_ayyangar is Product Hunt becoming "pay-to-win"?
Appreciate if you're honest with your take; it might be a challenge that you're facing, and the community could help:
@rajiv_ayyangar from the beginning, this was in my post (4th image):

@pablo_sanzo lol that guy spams everyone on launch day.
(I understand you mean the guy who messages launchers offering to "buy votes")
@chrismessina Thank you for the hunt, Chris! Means a lot ❤️

@pablo_sanzo sorry, yes — the guy in your gallery. 😅
