Pasty is a lightning-fast clipboard manager that looks and feels like it was made by Apple. It seamlessly matches the latest macOS design to eliminate workflow friction. It quietly saves text, links, and screenshots so you never lose a copy. Summon your history instantly with a custom hotkey and enjoy easy muscle-memory pasting in milliseconds. Amazing for creators and anyone sick of bloated, generic apps. No friction, just pure performance in an elegant, native UI.

Hello
I’ve just purchased a lifetime license for Pasty, but I’m unable to activate it at all — and honestly the whole experience feels very rough right now.
First issue: the contact email listed for the project doesn’t even work.
I tried reaching out and got:
550 5.1.1 : Recipient address rejected: Address does not exist (jordan@pasty.dev)
So I’m posting here because there’s literally no other way to get support.
Now about the app itself (version 3.6.1):
I received my license key after purchase, but there is no visible way to activate it anywhere in the UI.
What I tried:
Completed onboarding (“Get Started”)
Checked Settings → no License / Activate section
Checked About → nothing there
Checked menu bar UI and main history window → no “Upgrade” / “Enter License”
Tried interacting with all obvious UI elements — nothing
Fully reinstalled the app:
removed app
deleted ~/Library/Application Support/Pasty
deleted ~/Library/Preferences related files
restarted system
Clean install → onboarding again → still no activation option
I also (initially) tried moving system time forward to force trial expiration — the app just stopped working instead of offering activation. After that I did a full clean reinstall.
At this point I genuinely don’t understand how I’m supposed to use the license I paid for.
The UX around licensing feels either unfinished or broken — honestly it gives strong “vibe-coded without proper UX flow” energy.
Questions:
Where exactly is the license activation UI in 3.6.1?
Is this a known bug?
Is there any alternative way to activate (command, config, activation link, etc.)?
Right now the product looks promising visually, but this onboarding + licensing experience is very confusing and blocks actual usage.
Would appreciate clarification.
