Patio is where DIY meets community, learning, and sustainability. Borrow tools, rent yours out, learn with quizzes, discover tutorials, buy/sell tools, and find local resources. Making DIY easier, affordable, and more connected, beginner or pro.

Love how Patio blends tool sharing with learning. It’s not just “borrow and return” you can actually pick up new skills along the way. The community angle is what makes it stand out for me.

@flashsonic Thanks! 📚 That mix of sharing, learning, and community is exactly what we’re aiming for.

This is brilliant. It solves the “buy once, use once” problem and encourages people to actually connect with their neighbors. The fact that you’ve included trust features like deposits makes it even stronger. Big thumbs up from me!

@tj_dunham Thanks TJ! 🌟 Solving that “buy once, use once” problem while helping neighbors connect is exactly the goal.

Such a cool idea! Would be awesome if it could suggest substitutions, like this isn’t available, but heres something similar nearby 🙌

@kate_sleeman Thanks Kate! 💡 Suggestions like that would be super handy, definitely something we’ll explore.
Very interesting proposal
I would agree with some of the posts below and their main concern: It is just hard to trust someone else is caring as much as I do for my tools, right?
A key component of the proposal is to having clear rules on how do manage potential complaints when sharing tools and not everyone being as careful as we would like... the insurance and deposits will be key to create trust, it makes me think that if we are borrowing tools, there must be a subscription fee or the like that could cover the cost of the insurance. Or paying for insurance right out.
Sounds great idea, keep us posted

Whoa, sharing DIY tools and tips in one spot? That’s genius—my garage is a mess of unused stuff. Is there a way to swap locally, too? Love this direction!
Patio
@joey_zhu_seopage_ai That’s a brilliant idea! We hadn’t thought about local swaps, but it could be a perfect fit! How do you picture it working? What do you have in mind for the swap flow or features that would make trading tools in your neighborhood easy?
