Hi Hunters! 👋 I’m Alex, creator of PlayLing. I built this app to solve a problem I struggled with myself. I wanted to learn a new language on the go, but existing options didn't fit. Screen-based apps demanded 100% of my visual attention, and audio courses or podcasts were too passive—I couldn't control the pacing or repeat specific sentences. PlayLing flips this model. It’s an audio player designed specifically for hands-free, granular phrase learning. You press Play, lock your phone, and learn through continuous audio loops while walking, commuting, or cooking. You get full control of the playback right from your lock-screen or headphone buttons. Here is what makes it different: 🎧 Phrases, Not Podcasts: You’re not listening to a long track. You are working with individual, bite-sized phrases that you can skip, repeat, or rate on the fly. 🧠 Hack Your Loop: You are in total control. Adjust the playback speed, the exact number of repetitions for each phrase, and the pause length between them so your brain has time to translate. 🗑️ Skip the Fluff: Don't waste time on words you already know. Rate phrases with emojis to filter your playlist and practice only your weak spots. 🌍 10 Languages: 75+ collections per language focusing on real-life scenarios (travel, tech, work, food), not just "the apple is red". love the hands-free idea, especially since I usually learn on walks. one thing I'd love is a way to save or export the phrases I rate as useful so I can review them later as flashcards or notes. that would make the skipped basics feature feel even more useful.
