Hello everyone! 👋 Ploi has been live for a while, so it's not actually launching today.
I'm working on it in my free time as a hobby project, and I pour all my soul into it.
As a gift from me, I'm giving away a free Pro membership to anyone who signs up today.
Happy planting! 🌿

I really appreciate when someone puts in the efforts to go beyond business and create a purposeful app like Ploi.
Caring for the plants, I love the purpose you picked and I wish you the very best, @devjah
I am a Ploi "power user" with 146 plants and it has saved my sanity. I don't need an app that tries to tell me exactly how to take care of my plants (those are VERY hit or miss because there are simply too many variables at play). I just need something that helps me keep track of my plants and their care.
Never assume that just because a watering reminder is scheduled for a specific date, that means that you MUST water the plant that day. I know that if a specific plant has a reminder coming up in a couple days, and temperatures have recently been warmer, I need to check on that plant early. If it's been more humid or chilly, and the soil is still moist, I can push the reminder back a few days.
The beauty of Ploi is in making it simple, fast, and easy to keep all this organized. I have my list of plants grouped by location, so I can easily circle around the house and check on everyone, marking off my progress, adjusting reminders as needed, and seeing the app's badge number go down until it disappears.
I also use the app to record events such as moving a plant from one spot to another, repotting it, or marking a plant as dying or being given away. What was the name of that plant that I gave my sister last year? Easy to check. Did I already repot this calathea, or was it the other one? Pull up their profiles and look at the history.
One of my favorite things about Ploi is that when I am on vacation, I can have my house sitter download the app. That's SO much easier than giving them a list or spreadsheet and making them read labels. Each plant has a picture right next to its name for easy ID.
The cherry on top is that the developer has a discord server where users can ask questions, report bugs, and make suggestions for the app. He is very responsive and courteous, and clearly cares about making the app as best as it can be. He's already implemented several features suggested by me and other users. I'll never need another plant care app!
