Hi Product Hunt Community! Ben Allan-Rahill and Rachel Cantor here, two good friends who work in the tech space. When the Supreme Court announced it’s 5-4 decision overturning Roe v Wade (the ruling that established the constitutional right to abortion) on June 24, we were both incredibly disheartened and frustrated. So, we put our skills to use and created Post Roe Co: a site where we’re providing visibility and transparency into how companies are supporting (or not supporting) abortion rights. With the Supreme Court ruling, the clock has been turned back 50 years. The government and the courts have failed to protect this right, and the burden, unfortunately, now falls on corporations, who are the major provider of health insurance to the American people. On our site, you can find a list of companies who have issued statements in support of abortion rights and are actively covering travel costs for employees who need an abortion in states that outlaw the procedure. Plus, you can take action. If your company hasn’t either issued a statement in support of abortion rights, made a pledge to help employees who need abortion services and reproductive healthcare, or offered support and resources, you can use our email template to encourage employers to act in support. We wanted to take action and help out in a small We recognize that all women are affected by this decision; however, It will disproportionately impact women of color, especially in southern states where abortions are least accessible. While this project does not directly support these women, we hope that it’s a step in the right direction and encourages employers to take action immediately and stand up for abortion access. Love the idea!! I do think the database should consider which companies donate money to pacs or politicians who have drafted antiabortion legislation (e.g. Match group, uber, jp Morgan, Comcast) reference:https://popular.info/p/the-hypoc...
