I had a similar product idea around 2 years ago but never went through with it because I have neither the expertise nor the network in nanotechnology. 2 years later, I am finally discovering a company that did something very similar and I just can't express how much hope I have for humanity. The first product I noticed implementing this technology is the earlier-hunted JBL REFLECT Eternal (https://www.producthunt.com/post...), so I decided to hunt down the tech behind it. 🙂 P.S.: For some reason, the ?ref=producthunt is screwing up the preview of the website, so make sure you remove it from the URL after you enter the website. 🤷‍♂️

@erikfiala This is a 70s tech, with some improvements by Exeger(owner of Powerfoyle). It basically taps into photo sensitivity of dyes and their power to generate electricity. It is in essence, a PV cell. Till now the main problem of this tech was stability and cost. I am not sure how Exeger has overcome these limitations. It has nothing to do with photosynthesis, although the original researchers were trying to replicate photosynthesis in lab and this tech was a byproduct. I tried hard to find some power specs for this product to compare with traditional solar cells, but cannot find it anywhere. I am quite excited about this company and hope it wont turn out to be another Theranos, because it sounds too good to be true. More information here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dy...

This product sounds remarkable. I also can't find any data on the output energy which is a real shame, I really hope the development of Powerfoyle is at least in alpha with a MVP as the website, as previously mentioned above, dosen't work to well.

@nikos_efthias1 sort of, but not really. Solar panels work with solar power - the Sun. This foil has more-less properties of a leaf, thus generating photosynthesis.
