@rrhoover raises an important issue that we certainly hope Preggie will address and become basis for lifelong relationships:)
The idea for the app stems from both the personal experience of the founders in their families and an ensuing successful single-language social platform that serves mainly the core international audience of women between 18 and 45. This platform initially focussed on the relatively narrow topic of pregnancy, then grew into something much bigger, as the intial target audience has expanded their social circles and information consumption patterns, while developing considerable affinity with the platform.
We believe that Preggie, especially given the multi-lingual mobile focus, must offer a user an effective, simple and flexible means of acquiring and communicating with her desired circle of friends. This circle is formed in a specific locale, so that the relationships can develop in parallel on- and off-line. The community of each user is as prone to long-term engagement with evolving discussion topics as it is easily identifiable by the initial most crucial at a point in a user's life. Users need not be trapped in a phase/topic and should engage over the long-term, as long as they like the open communication platform that Preggie is, more than anything else. Their growing information and communication needs will be taken up by evolution of Preggie or sister apps

Can certainly become a boon from an advertising perspective. Moms (or future moms) are obviously a huge target for CPG companies. This is basically giving advertisers knowledge of when someone is pregnant and they can then "track" the age of the baby. Reminds me of the "How Target Figured Out a Teen Girl Was Pregnant Before Her Father Did" (interesting article despite the click-bait headline) http://www.forbes.com/sites/kash...

Of course, being part of maternity courses or getting involved in parent communities isn't obligatory, but it sure improves your knowledge about everything in this area. By attending such courses, you'll find answers - the right ones, reassurance, resources, lots of info you won't find anywhere, and community. In my online parenting classes at courses.mother.com, I happened to meet wonderful women and men, craving to become better parents. Even after the end of the course, I kept in touch with some of the course participants and continued a beautiful friendship with them.
