I built PriceOS after I realized how incredibly difficult it was to test and experiment with new pricing plans on one of my previous products, Video To Blog. I went from a simple unlimited plan to tiered plans to credit based plans back to tiered plans and so on. Each time I switched pricing I wanted to keep my existing customers on whatever plan they originally signed up under which led to me having to support a ton of different plans all with different feature access and limits. This, of course, became a nightmare to manage in my code base and got worse each time I wanted to experiment with new pricing. I kept looking for tools to solve this, but everything I found was either too expensive or didn’t actually handle the core problem. Finally, I got fed up and decided to build a better system. I wanted something that did three things... 1. Let me easily create features and define access / limits for all my Stripe products. 2. Had a simple, straightforward way to determine which features a customer had access to anywhere in my application (without having to hardcode a bunch of Stripe product/price IDs). 3. A simple way to track usage for limit based features (like credits) in my application. So that's why I built PriceOS. Would love to hear any and all feedback anyone has :)
