Interesting. When Microsoft isn't acquiring (and integrating) apps that are doing well (i.e. Sunrise -> Outlook), they seem to be replicating them (i.e. Microsoft Flow / Pix / Planner and now this one).
This is not a Slack competitor. It is a workforce communications tool, like Zinc, Red E App, Sitrion One, and Avaamo. They have chat-like interfaces, but not like IRC chat; more like Whatsapp. These tools are targeted at companies with large deskless workforces -- people doing 'hard' work -- not the desk workers doing 'soft' work in the office.

Curious to see how this latest @slackhg challenger stacks up against @Ryverapp as well. Crowded space.
I'm really not sure how this is a competitor to slack. Looks like it's more focused on the problems associated with frontline employee scheduling than managing chat feeds.

Maybe a way to keep Outlook's company clients from going on Gmail and as a back up for Microsoft's portfolio, as long as it seems to integrate calendar features too, but I wouldn't bet on them competing with Slack ๐
I'll be curious to test it though ๐
Not so relevant for a lot of the audience here but managing rosters, schedules and shifts is a huge headache for a lot of traditional companies that still rely on human labour to complete tasks (and will do for the foreseeable future). If there was a decent offering through O365 I'm sure a lot of CIOs would cry tears of joy. Really keen to see what comes of this.
