Hi Everyone 👋, I'm Peter. I built Promi with my cofounder Jiaxin. We're coming from Uber, where I led product for discounts. Jiaxin and I saw firsthand how being smarter with discounts generated an extra >$1B in gross bookings for Uber, and we wanted to bring this personalization magic to other ecommerce retailers. We shift discount spend away from users that would order anyway toward more uses that need the extra nudge, increasing conversion for this group and driving more overall revenue. Impressive, I think it's a great way to boost sales. Is there any mechanism to prevent abuzz of discount? For example, I am creating several accounts, trying to find out the best discount on the product?

Hey Peter congrats on the launch, this sounds super useful for ecommerce merchants, especially midsize to large ones, I love how it focuses on the customers who need a little extra push to buy, I do wonder though how it handles seasonal shopping spikes, any thoughts on that?

Found this tool while scrolling through some ads and honestly, I'm not sure if tweaking discounts based on random signals will actually benefit long term, won't it confuse customers, how does it handle seasonal sales, thinking it's a bit overhyped, thoughts?

@copyuxpro We cache discount values for a few hours to avoid confusing customers too much with different discounts each time they session. We have features in our model to adjust discount values based on traffic spikes and seasonality - those are intended to adjust for seasonal sales.

Hey Peter, this sounds cool on the surface, but do we really need yet another tool to tweak discounts, seems a bit overkill especially for smaller shops, would rather see something more innovative than just optimizing discounts, feels like a limited vision honestly, curious to see if it actually makes a big difference
