Hey Product Hunt 👋 — I made Quest Log because I was tired of losing track of my D&D campaign across three different apps. It's aimed at DMs and players who want one place for quests, NPCs, backstory, loot, and hand-drawn maps, styled like an actual fantasy campaign log rather than a generic notes app. Free tier is genuinely free forever (local storage, no account) — the paid tier adds cloud sync, PDF export, and a way to share a recap link with your party after a session. Would love feedback from anyone who runs games!

honestly the local save thing is such a relief, i can just start dumping notes without signing up for yet another account. the sketch canvas sold me since i'm always scribbling bad maps during prep.

@azatdolaner Thank you! I built the app off the idea of how Note Pad works on your phone. Quick, easy, saves to device. And with the Add Category feature, you can add as many sketch pads as you need.

as someone who runs a weekly game this looks really solid. one thing that would honestly be a game changer is some kind of timeline view that auto-builds from session notes, so you can actually see the chronological order of what the party did across 30+ sessions without scrolling through everything manually.

@tuncayqstk Thank you! Good idea, I will look into that.

@tuncayqstk Question: would it detract from the app if the option to auto-build to timeline were a manual selection instead of automatic? My reasoning is if all entries were auto added to the timeline it could get crowded. This would allow players and DMs to add notes they didn't want saved to the timeline (player updates backstory, an above table quote, etc.). Basically an add to timeline buton you could tap after finishing the text.

Finally tried Quest Log last night and the sketch canvas for dungeon maps sold me instantly, way faster than pulling out graph paper mid-session.

@graina55903751 Thank you! The idea behind it was players could also sketch out the sigil or rune they find during game. Would having a grid paper option be useful to you?

Small update for anyone following along — shipped two things this week based on feedback:
📝 Grid paper for sketches — Maps & Sketches now has a Plain/Grid toggle right in the drawing toolbar. You can switch between them anytime, even mid-drawing, without losing what you've drawn — handy for dungeon layouts where you actually want to count squares.
📍 Timeline — this one I'm pretty excited about. Highlight any line of text in a quest, journal entry, NPC note, whatever, and a small icon lets you pin it to a new Timeline view. It builds itself as your campaign goes — a chronological, read-only recap of the moments you actually cared about, each one linking back to where it came from. No manual timeline-building, just highlight-and-pin as you write.
Both are live now, free tier included. Let me know what you think 👇

Update: sketch pads now toggle between plain and grid paper. You may need to refresh or open and close the app.
