@lukasz_x2 great find, this seems like a really cool podcast about all things out west. This episode focuses on women in the west starting businesses and taking on the Ski industry. Love the public radio feel is has too! =)
@juliaritchey and @amywestervelt what was the impetus for creating the show? I'd love for you both to share your thoughts and insights so folks can learn more about your podcast. =)
@alexcartaz@lukasz_x2@juliaritchey We both have sort of a fascination with the West -- both its history and how that history translates to the spirit you still find here today -- there are still people striking out to make their fortunes, hiding out from their pasts, and just generally being weird in the desert. That's what we love about this part of the country and we felt like there really hasn't been anyone covering it. Most radio -- and really media in general -- is very East Coast-focused and everything we see about the West is either super cowboy/hunting focused with a distinct slant, or done by folks in New York who don't really have enough knowledge of the West to put what's happening now into a broader cultural and historical context. That, AND we're both reporters for our local NPR station and kept finding ourselves with all these fun and interesting stories that didn't quite work in the news broadcast, so we figured why not start a podcast? Thanks for listening!
