The most frustrating thing about trying to connect the physical world is definitely all the different UX patterns. I'm glad to see people are trying to simplify connecting the world.

This is incredible - and even though the Hybrid Object currently is limited to the Arduino Yun (~$79), there's apparently working instructions for Raspberry Pi, so it should be possible with a $5 Zero (once they're not back ordered...) Can't wait to see the amazing ideas that people come up with!
finally something actually innovative instead of shuffling around frameworks. this looks super cool! Kind of like ifttt with a central interface

To be honest, I think it's much better to show a miniature view of the smart objects and let users draw the workflow. Because the mobile screen is too small to "interact with real world". In an ideal VR headset this would make sense, but for tiny screens I would rather draw the connections on a miniature diagram.
