Hey Product Hunt! We are thrilled to announce our car safety ratings product. Why care about car safety? About 1 in 100 Americans are injured in auto accidents every year (and about 40,000 die)! 😨 You can substantially reduce this risk (by up to 90%) by choosing a safe car. That's where our free product comes in. Existing ratings have two flaws. (1) They are based on staged crash tests that do not necessarily reflect real-world collisions. (2) Too many vehicles are lumped together (about 1/3 get the top rating), obscuring important differences. After a near-death experience, we became driven to improve on existing ratings. Our ratings are constructed by relating real-world driver fatality rates to many vehicle features, including injury measurements from staged crash tests---in fact, our ratings are the only ones to do so. Additionally, advanced methods are used to separate out the impact of vehicle design and cautious driving habits. After all, when searching for a vehicle, you care about how well the vehicle protects passengers, not the other way around. 🤔 Our mission is to save many lives simply by providing better information in easily comprehensive graphs.
