Ever since I started managing my own finance records, I found that bookkeeping was time-consuming manually. I found entry-level converters online but ran into problems with most of them. Problems would range from extraction missing rows, flipping amounts, changing row orders, outputting extra noise etc. which I would later have to identify and clean up manually. There are accounting platforms which offer these reconciliation checks and pathways to fix them but they were either too pricy or offered features I did not need. I initially wrote a custom software just for this purpose but later, I realized that solo accountants or small firms might be having the same problem I did. Hence, came the idea to build Smart Bank Statement to do only one thing and do it well. It not only does extraction but also performs reconciliation and correction but at an entry-level price point.
