Great idea and one that could really help radio reporters. Questions for you, Fahim...(1) Is the audible beep tone throughout the call part of the recording? If so, that could be a real problem with those wanting to use the recording for radio or podcasts. In fact, that would be a deal-killer for people like me. If it was just at the beginning of the call as you mentioned you previously were doing, that could easily be edited out. (2) Does your product work with WiFi calling and also with VoLTE to record higher quality calls? This is not as important for radio reporters, but it would be a much-needed, added advantage for quality purposes.
@sdavis60 1. We just did this temporarily but we will have more options in the future for people who do not want the tone. 2. We are strictly going to stick to normal voice calls for now but if we do launch an app in the future, that feature would be possible.
Smart idea! This must be very usefull for journalists and podcast makers to quickly record w/o using additional equipment. Will you have international numbers soon?
@mikaellowgren absolutely, we're glad to provide them a no frills solution to recording phone calls. international numbers are definitely coming down the line! thank you for your support.

@fahims@mikaellowgren Jorge from Spain here. Are those international numbers ready yet? :)
Excellent idea. How do you pay/how much is it for calls longer than 10 minutes?
Remember to check the laws in your state around the legality of recording a call without telling the other party.
@_jacksmith we didn't think much beyond the free service although we have some ideas. yes, should absolutely add wording about legal depending on the state. updating soon!
@dilyarbatur RecordTheCall initially says it is recording but the secondary caller might miss this. So we just recently added an audible beep tone (based on feedback) throughout the call which is an acceptable form of consent according to the FCC. We hope to improve this more in the future.
Hello! I'm Fahim, one of the creators of RecordTheCall. We wanted to create a really simple way for you to record a phone call without having to download anything (other than the recording). This is a small proof of concept that we're building on. We hope that users of the ProductHunt community find it useful and if you have any feedback, please do share! Thanks again. Happy hunting.
@fahims what APi did you use for this app ? Twilio ?

Very clever indeed but as a UK based user the recordings could work out expensive in call charges [with the US (I assume) based number provided].
I don't suppose a UK based number is in the making?
EDIT: Sorry! just read the whole thread and note you already responded to this question raised earlier by @mikaellowgren

I hope a service like this is available in the UK. I would use it on calls to banks or large companies that refuses to accept responsibility for what was said on previous calls. However for now, I imagine I can use it with my virtual U.S number that I have using the "Hushed" app?
