Looking forward to use it! One thing that stopped me is this dialog:
I don't understand what is being uploaded. I obviously don't want the service I don't know have access to my private photos.
For the app like this I would assume you can do all the processing on the phone without uploading anything.
Glad that you like the idea and is playing with our public beta!
The best part of ReKoMe is auto tagging. Our image recognition algorithm automatically generates searchable keywords for each photo, such as beach, animal, smile, food, etc. The first part of computation is done on the phone: we abstract the image features, such as edges of the objects, texture of the images, which can be seen as the fingerprints of the images. Then we send the features to our recognition engine in the cloud. The second part, which needs more computational power, is done in the cloud: we generate the tags, scenes, objects, animals, given the features. The generated tags are sent back to the phone and stored locally in the photo to power the smart search and smart organization of photos. After our engine indexes the photos, it tosses away all the data to preserve privacy!
We love to hear more feedbacks, suggestions, as well as ideas you think will be good to have in ReKoMe ^_^
Cheers!

Don't know if this is competitive but it'd be awesome to see an integration between this and @picturelife
Super!! @jonnym1ller Good News! The API is already here: http://rekognition.com/. ReKoMe is powered by the concept ReKognition engine :) Check it out and feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

@Yushan_Orbeus yeah, big fan of @picturelife so far. Lots of features I'd love to see, but so far best fit for what I'm looking for in managing all my pics
@nikitakorotaev the beauty score is just for fun :-P, so ...hmm... maybe we should add a dispute button next to it.
For ReKoMe, I totally agree, we definitely need to do a better job in explaining our privacy policy. The ReKoMe is sending different features to our backend, comparing to our API though. In our public API, we want to keep the interface as simple as possible for the developer: just send us the image, and we will take care of the rest. For ReKoMe, we have done quite a bit customized and localized work to reduce the amount of data that we need to send to the cloud. For ReKoMe, after the tags are generated, all the data are then deleted from the server.

@yushan_orbeus exif data would work as well. I'm just looking for more interoperability when it comes to photo management. I get scared putting all of my data into one system that can't be read on others. i.e. make a bunch of changes in lightroom or another software, then making sure those tags make it to flickr or wherever my web storage is, along with my local storage. I haven't found a good solution yet. Let me know if you'd like to chat more about this! :)
