In Quebec, contractors wait an average of 80 days to get paid after invoicing, according to the ACQ (Association de la construction du Québec). The norm used to be 30. Nationally, the picture isn't much better: 91% of Canadian construction businesses were paid late in the past year, and 69% weren't paid at all for completed work at least once (BC Construction Association, 2025).
