Hey PH, I built Relay because I kept having the same experience every time I needed to add SMS to a project. The use case was always simple: send a verification code, an order confirmation, or an alert, but the integration never was. With Twilio, it was 47 API endpoints, carrier registration forms, and a pricing calculator that needed its own spreadsheet. With AWS SNS, it was IAM policies, region selection, and origination identity management. Every time, a feature that should take an afternoon ate an entire week. Inspired by Resend, Relay is what I wished existed for SMS. One API key. One POST endpoint. Your first real SMS delivered in under 2 minutes. We handle 10DLC compliance, carrier routing, and delivery tracking so you never have to learn what any of that means. A few things I think are worth calling out: 1. Agent-native SMS: AI agents can create an account, subscribe, and start sending via POST /v1/accounts/autonomous. No human in the loop. If you're building agents that need to text humans, this exists and it works today. 2. sms-dev: A free, open-source local dev tool. Last year I thought about what @resend for SMS could look like. So I built @Relay.

SMS infra for developers. sign up - get api key - integrate sms into your app in 2 mins.

SMS is the highest converting channel. It should be as easy as email. 90% of the use cases are sending confirmation or verification codes. Twilio is built for the other 10%.

What would you want from a "Resend for SMS" dev tool?

Hey everyone, I'm Daniel, building Relay. We're launching here soon and wanted to start a conversation first.

The short version: I kept spending entire days integrating SMS into projects that only needed to send a verification code. Twilio has 47 endpoints. AWS SNS needs IAM policies and origination identity setup. Every time, a 5-minute feature became a 5-hour detour.
