It's been a joy watching Remedy's UX evolve. From the start, its conversational UI made this digital healthcare interaction feel personal and safe. Since then, it's only become even more intuitive and friendly. The details are where it's at: Remy saying "did you know you were born on a Thursday"; the illustrations In the NUX; the show password button that lets you double check it; not to mention its sensible navigation and clear form-filling UI. I haven't gotten a chance to try every feature--I wish you also served the New York area!
@luke_cheng Thanks for the kind words! Right now, we’re live in all of California. In the next year or so, we will begin our expansion to other states. New York is on the top of the list on the East Coast.
First of all, the product looks beautiful! The UI looks great and Remy is adorable. I also really love the fantastic timing of this product, since more states are loosening regulations on telemedicine. Would be really interesting to see how data on when people make an appointment on Remedy (a la Google Flu trends).
@jenleeny There are actually several problems that are immediately interesting to us:
1) Clinical decision support. In the process of collecting highly granular data about each consult, we're developing a dataset that will allow us to match reported symptoms and QA data to the immediate diagnosis by a physician and results of the 48 hour follow up. We can use this dataset to generate models for predicting the patient's diagnosis (and the rationale for the diagnosis), most likely warning signs that would indicate something more serious is going on, and automatic templates so the doctor can send across all the critical information with a couple taps.
2) Bringing cutting edge research to the front lines of care. The speed of clinical research far outpaces the ability of any individual doctor to keep up. There's just so much new information coming out every single day. We're hoping to use our strong algorithmic understanding of medicine to surface the most relevant research articles to the physician in the appropriate clinical context. That way, if there's a new practice guideline or study that would suggest a best course of action for a particular patient, the doctor will know about it!
3) Continuous monitoring for chronic diseases. Some of the most expensive and dangerous conditions in today's healthcare system are complex chronic diseases, and the current healthcare system is ill-equipped to tackle them. In the long term, we hope to continuously engage our chronically ill patients so we can detect decompensation before it happens and make the appropriate interventions.
And many more :)
@maxpgreenwald Thanks for support Max! We are looking to build a healthcare system for everyone. Which means increasing accessibility not just for people (like us!) who are busy or lazy with self-care, but more importantly for people for whom physically going into a doctor's office is cumbersome and inaccessible. The current healthcare system is not designed for everyone and Remedy strives to fix that.

This is a simple and effective solution to a massive problem. My grandmother visits the U.S. often to get new medication. I am excited to try it and see if this is something we can use for her! Great job Remedy Team :)
@laide_olams Thank you Laide. Please do keep us updated on how that goes! We want to ensure we build a product for everyone -- all age groups and certainly all nationalities.

Great idea and implementation. I tried it back when it was still in beta. Haven't had any serious medical issues, but if I ever do, I think Remedy would be a great solution.
@mblai Thank for all your support Bec! We added in a ton of the features requested in our beta wave and redesigned the product to best suit our beloved users <3

I was an early user of Remedy during a private beta, and used it when my leg started feeling numb occasionally for a few days. Unsure of even what type of specialist to see, Remedy was able to point me towards the next course of action (I saw a specialist, and it was fine :))
This will be a very important product for the world if it reaches scale, and I wish them the best. It'll definitely be my first stop for any medical issue.
Amazing project guys - for the physicians on the team, two questions: 1. how do you safely get by regulation-wise/practice-wise without doing a physical examination of the patient? 2. the role of, say, a General Practitioner actually includes not only treating the presenting complaint but also conducting opportunistic screening (capitalising on preventative health opportunities) - have you guys considered this?
