Congrats on the launch! It's great to see more tools like this in the space and I like your interface.
I ran into some errors while trying different foods. "1 apple" didn't work (said it wasn't a food), but "apple" did. And there seem to be a few issues with math (I assume this is just handled in the LLM directly for now?). "apple" has 52 calories but "3 apples" have 231.
@ahmad_roumie You're right, I was on the old bot. However, I just tried similar queries on the WhatsApp bot and had similar results. "1 apple" was (at first) discarded, while "apple" now has 95kcal, "3 apples" have a lower 77.1kcal, and "5 apples" has 125kcal.
Also, some of the message discards seem to be alternating between discarded and processed. If I send "1 apple" four times, it's discard, processed, discard, then processed. Not sure what that's about. However when it does process, "1 apple" does have the same output as "apple", which is good!
I had a lot of fun trying out your app. Using Whatsapp as the UI reduces the onboarding complexity significantly. I asked rex to help me figure out how many macros are in my smoothie, and asked chatGPT to do the same and compared the results.
Rex results:
Calories: 381 kcal π₯
Protein: 34 gr πͺ
Carbs: 32.7 gr π
Sugars: 17 gr π
Fat: 15.6 gr π§
Fiber: 13.9 gr πΎ
ChatGPT results:
Calories: 363
Protein: 22.7g
Carbs: 29.5g
Sugars: 15g-20g
Fats: 13.4g
Fiber: 12-15g
Why do you think the results are different? For Sugars and Fibre, are you using the median value of the range to come up with your value?
I'm looking forward to getting my EOD report!
@maxcameron The answer to that depends heavily if we have the specific item in our database. If we do, we reference that otherwise, we take the median of the range.

I don't see a privacy policy anywhere on your website. Are you keeping personally identifiable information on people? You mentioned below that you're working on an app to collect health information. The privacy policy is even more critical at that point, and you'll be subject to HIPAA regulations as well. I think it's very important to let people know if you're selling their data. Aggregated is one thing, but if you're selling personally identifiable info, that's something totally different.

I really like the picture feature. How accurate is it though? It'd be nice to tell me the likelyhood of being accurate based on the complexity of the meal/data available/picture quality. So I know if I should type this is in manually to make it really accurate or just stick to the AI suggested calories break down.
Also can it automatically increase/decrease the calories intake based on the weight goals and the actual weight changes week over week? That'd be extremely helpful
