Effortlessly screenshot Google Street View without the U in a single click. Just frame your view, and with the click of a button, preserve stunning snapshots of real-world landscapes from the comfort of your browser.
Congratulations on the launch!
it's simple and does its job, I was gonna say why isn't there an android support, but then I remembered that android's street view UI is already minimal
Hello, Product Hunt community! 🚀
🙃 My name is Bilaal, and I'm thrilled to be introducing you to Screenshot for Street View - an app that removes the UI from Google Street View and takes screenshots.
💯 I created Screenshot for Street View so that users can easily capture images from the world around them right within their browser. Whether its for journalistic purposes, reliving your favourite travel memories or planning your next adventure, use this extension to capture breathtaking views with ease.
📱 Available for all your browsers: Safari, Chrome, and, if you don't mind a slightly restricted experience, Firefox too!
🛡️ And most importantly, all syncing is done offline, on your device. No cloud servers are used and no data ever leaves your device, so your privacy is always protected. You can verify for yourself by running the extension whilst offline.
📘 Please note that certain artefacts and icons are baked into the Street View canvas, such as street names, and as such cannot be removed.
🤖 I'd love to hear your thoughts on Screenshot for Street View, so please comment below and let us know what you think!
🫶 Thank you for your endless support!
@bilaalrashid Great idea. I tried it on my grandmother's house. The image downloaded, but all the UI is still there. Take a look: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s...
This is what was in my Downloads in my Mac.
@sree Sorry about that bug. Would you be able to send me the URL of the Google Maps location you are using and the details of your browser and I’ll try and recreate and fix it ASAP? There’s a contract form on my website https://screenshotforstreetview....
Congratulations on the launch @bilaalrashid! This is very cool :) Are you working on removing the icons and text baked into the street view later or is it simply not possible/viable for the amount of work?
@nirnimes Thanks! It’s certainly not an easy thing to do. However, as I always say, nothing is impossible! It’ll take a fair amount of work, but I’ve got a few ideas to solve it which may be possible and I’m working on in my spare time.
Congratulations on the launch!

Congratulations on the successful launch of "Screenshot for Street View"! It's great to see your product gain recognition. To enhance your app further, consider adding these features:
1. Multi-platform support (desktop and mobile)
2. Customizable annotation options for snapshots
3. Integration with social media for easy sharing
I'd love to connect on Product Hunt to learn more about your app and explore potential collaborations. Keep up the fantastic work! 😊🚀
@realkunalmehta Thanks for taking the time to give me that feedback. I love those ideas and think they’d definitely elevate the extension to the next level. I’d certainly love to connect and work together!
@vikram_sreedhar It will only toggle the Street View UI on and off, you would have to take a screen shot manually yourself. At present the security policies in Firefox won’t allow for any way to save the image, without either sending it to the cloud or requiring so many permissions that no one would really accept them.
@bilaalrashid Ah that makes sense! Really appreciate the insights here.
We just launched on Product Hunt today actually and it would mean a lot if you're able to check us out!
