I'm Joseph, the Founder of Sheets Organizer.
As a Google Workspace consultant, I've seen teams get lost in their own spreadsheets. That’s when I knew there had to be a better way to organize Google Sheets.
I was working with a food company in Portugal that needed an automated invoicing system inside Google Sheets. Their main sheet had 15+ tabs, and with multiple collaborators constantly reordering them, navigating the spreadsheet became a real struggle.
During a meeting, the CEO was walking me through their current process. While switching between tabs, he got lost. It took him about 2 minutes just to find the right tabs, and by then, he had forgotten the point he was making.
I had faced the same frustration in other projects too and I found hundreds of users asking for a better way to manage tabs in Google Sheets for a long time. And I thought:
💡 What if there was a way to search tabs like you search text with Ctrl+F? Or simply group related tabs into folders?
That’s when I came up with the idea for Sheets Organizer, a Google Sheets add-on to make large spreadsheets manageable.

@joseph_asinyo how much overhead does the add-on introduce? like on larger sheets. does it slow down the initial sheet load time significantly?

@mohsinproduct Sheets Organizer doesn’t slow down your spreadsheet at all. It takes just a couple of seconds to load, then opens as a sidebar inside your spreadsheet. The interface shows one panel with your list of sheets and another with your list of folders. (Image attached.)

That said, I’m also building Foldernest, a tool that connects Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Forms to automatically generate nested folder structures with custom files whenever a form is submitted.

@abhishek_xp That's correct, man! With more than 10+ tabs in your spreadsheet, it becomes difficult to navigate between tabs. Sheets Organizer helps you open the right tab faster, and do much more.
Do I understand right it is only a side bar? Do you have permissions to actually modify the "tabs" bar?

@pasha_tseluyko Thanks for your, question Pavel. Yes, it opens as a sidebar and has full access to manage your tabs and sheets. It’s not a Chrome extension, but a Google Sheets add-on that you can install directly from the Google Workspace Marketplace using this link:

It would be great to have AI-powered search. Often you remember what a document is about but not its name, so you have to dig through the drive for a long time

@mykyta_semenov_ Sheets Organizer is designed to organize tabs/sheets within a spreadsheet. It's not to organize files in Drive.
