Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I’m Vitalii, the creator of Shisei.
As a developer, I spend 10+ hours a day at my desk. I built Shisei to help myself and others maintain good posture while working. It helps me a lot, and I hope it will help you too!
That’s why I built Shisei (姿勢 - Japanese for "posture").
Instead of annoying pings or notifications you just swipe away, Shisei creates a physical feedback loop: it blurs your screen and adds a soft red tint the moment you slouch. It’s a "nudge" that trains your brain to sit up if you want to keep working.
Why you’ll love it:
🧠 Real-time AI: Uses the macOS Vision framework to monitor your spinal alignment and head position with high frequency.
🔒 Privacy First: Built to be 100% on-device. Your camera feed never leaves your Mac and is never recorded or transmitted.
⚡ Automation Ready: Full Apple Shortcuts support. Start/stop automatically based on your work hours, power source, or Focus modes.
🚫 No Subscriptions: I’m tired of monthly fees too. Buy it once, own it forever.
🎨 Fully Customizable: I always say "red blur", but it's actually customizable! You can change the color and text to whatever you like. This shade of red is just what works best for me. This is why I made it default color for the blur effect.
Special for Product Hunt: 🚀 I’m launching today with a 40% Early Bird discount ($12.99) for the PH community! 🎁 Not sure yet? It’s free to try for your first 10 slouches, so you can experience the "Red Blur" before committing.
I’d love to hear your feedback, especially on the blur sensitivity and how it fits into your workflow.
Do you prefer a strict feedback loop like a red blur, or something more subtle?
I'm based in Japan, so if I don't reply immediately during your daytime, I'm likely asleep or taking a quick break! I’ll get back to every single question by morning JST. Thanks for your patience!
Stay upright, Vitalii
