SHIUI — a flat ink UI kit in the spirit of Hinomaru Japanese posters. Paper, sumi, vermilion. Zero shadows.
What's great
Most "design system" kits end up looking identical to every other Tailwind template within a week - flat gray cards, soft shadows, rounded-xl everything. The zero-shadow, paper/sumi/vermilion direction here actually reads as a distinct visual identity out of the box instead of generic SaaS chrome, and it's free and open source so I could drop it straight into a real project to see how far the ink aesthetic holds up past the marketing site.
What needs improvement
Component coverage is still thin - mostly the marketing-page building blocks (heroes, cards, badges) rather than the harder stuff like data tables, forms with validation states, or modals. Would love to see the kit grow into full app UI, not just landing pages.

Fully open-sourcing it after the launch attention is a good call. Just left a review - the aesthetic is the whole selling point here, so seeing the GitHub go public before the hype dies down should help it actually get used instead of just bookmarked.
