Hey Product Hunt community! 👋
I’m thrilled to introduce ShortcutDock today! 🚀
💡 Why I built ShortcutDock
Like many Mac power users, I found myself getting constantly distracted by a crowded macOS Dock taking up valuable screen space. Hiding the Dock usually meant navigating through Finder or Launchpad whenever I wanted to open an app.
I wanted a solution that was fast, minimal, and out of the way—so I created ShortcutDock. It lives in your macOS menu bar, letting you organize, categorize, and launch all your apps with one click while keeping your main desktop completely clean.
✨ What makes it special:
🙈 Hide your macOS Dock: Reclaim your full screen real estate for a distraction-free environment.
🚀 Instant Dropdown Access: Click the menu bar icon (or hit a hotkey) to view your custom app launcher.
📁 Custom App Groups: Organize your apps into categories like Dev Tools, Design, Browsers, and Productivity.
🪶 Native & Lightweight: Extremely fast performance with zero impact on battery or memory.
🎁 A special thanks & call for feedback

Honestly the dock was always taking up too much space on my smaller macbook screen, so this is kind of a dream. Grouping apps into custom categories like Dev and Design feels super snappy and way cleaner than my old mess of folders.
