Sleeping Beauty is a compact security device with the size of a hockey puck which protects and tracks your valuable possessions using a cellular network and GPS to triangulate its position. Only if Sleeping Beauty is physically moved does it consume any battery power in order to send its location to your smartphone. This is the reason why Sleeping Beauty runs up to 2 whole years on a single battery.
Sleeping Beauty is not only the perfect solution for protecting those possessions which should stay put for a very long time it can also track objects which are moved very often by using the “Bluetooth Low Energy – Tracking Mode”.
Almost any object can be tracked with Sleeping Beauty. And the real beauty of Sleeping Beauty is that it works anywhere in the world where there’s cellular network coverage. Sleeping Beauty will be manufactured in Berlin. The data is stored in Germany in keeping with german privacy standards.

Thanks to the “Prince Charming” processor (ARM Cortex M0+) inside Sleeping Beauty, the standby time is off the scale. Sleeping Beauty will sleep undisturbed for up to two years and will report its location and remaining battery life at regular intervals via the smartphone app. Sleeping Beauty gives peace of mind to anybody who wants to track what’s near and dear to them. In Sleep Mode “Prince Charming” needs only 270 nanoampere.
GSM & GPS Modul
Sleeping Beauty works with GSM and GPS. This provides the best reception: even in closed rooms or in subways Sleeping Beauty can send and receive data. In terms of location determination, GSM triangulation provides an accuracy of 10 to 150 meters, in the countryside it can be up to 3 kilometers. Via GPS you can determine the location of your device very accurately — to within a range of 2 meters. Sleeping Beauty works with A-GPS (Assisted GPS) — meaning that the GSM network assists the GPS network in getting satellite connection. In case there is no GPS available, the GSM still provides the approximate position.
Bluetooth Low Energy Chip (BLE)
Sleeping Beauty comes with a Bluetooth Low Energy Chip (BLE) which makes it possible to connect to any Bluetooth device. Once connected you can assign different rules as to when Sleeping Beauty will detect an authenticated device. E.g. ‘Do not wake up if moved while my smartphone is connected via Bluetooth’.
Battery lifetime (LSD NiMH)
Sleeping Beauty uses a low self-discharge nickel–metal hydride battery (LSD NiMH). After 2 years in sleep mode there is still 75% energy left. Built for the cold, these batteries even maintain high power in low temperatures. Sleeping Beauty comes with 4 eneloop AAA 750 mAh batteries. And the good news is that you can recharge them via a mini USB connection with almost any USB charger
