Smart Keys for Mac makes writing easier with keyboard shortcuts to fix grammar, translate, shift tone, and get coding help. Create custom shortcuts and keep your flow going without copying and pasting into ChatGPT. Perfect for anyone who (still) writes. :p
Hey PH 👋
Keeping it short. Our mobile app picked up some traction, so we brought Smart Keys to Mac. It’s a little tool we made to make writing in a second (or third) language less of a hassle.
It works anywhere on your Mac. Fix grammar, translate, shift tone, or get coding help without copy-pasting into ChatGPT. Just hit a shortcut and keep flowing.
You can also make your own shortcuts, like a personal tone key, or one that drops in kaomojis or pick-up lines. Totally up to you. (ง •̀_•́)ง
Would love for you to try it out and let us know what feels helpful (or annoying). Feedback welcome.
Thanks for reading 🤍
Also chiming in. Hi, I am Leandra, one of the makers of Smart Keys 👋
This began as a little tool to make our ESL life less of a hassle. The best part has been seeing people come up with their own cool ways to use it.
If you give it a try, I would love to hear what feels smooth, what could be better, or anything else you notice. We are keeping the feedback loop wide open.
Thanks again for checking it out 🤍

Feels like a real productivity boost for writers and coders alike. Wishing you all the best as this grows!
Love the flow focus—breaking rhythm to copy-paste is brutal. Curious, how do you balance adding power features without cluttering the simple shortcut experience?

@shenjun Thanks, Jun! We're having a blast building it. Oh, and we're building in public, sharing our metrics and what we learn here: https://diego.horse/tag/smart-keys/
@diegodottac That's really cool, build in public is an especially effective marketing approach also, as your product has a wide audience.
I don't want to upgrade my stable Ventura, so I was unable to use it. Looking great though.

@suebozkus Yeah, that's a bummer. I tried to make it compatible with MacOS versions lower than 14, but it required a major refactor. Thanks anyway.

@shreyans_assistiv In my view, I just couldn't really do that. The app interface feels kinda overwhelming. :(
