Hey Ethan! Live captions on Zoom always come down to the latency vs accuracy trade. wait 200ms longer per phrase and you get a much better translation, but the meeting moves on without you. where did you land on that dial, and was Zoom or Teams harder to integrate cleanly? Teams' API has been a nightmare for anything realtime historically.

Yeah, that tradeoff is exactly the hard part. For SonicMeet, we lean more toward low latency and stable captions rather than chasing maximum accuracy at all costs.
Higher accuracy usually means waiting for more context, or even re-translating phrases multiple times as the sentence becomes clearer. But in a live meeting, that can make captions shift, jump, or change too often, which hurts the reading experience.
To me, the most important thing is that users can understand the meeting and read the captions comfortably. So we optimize for timely, stable, readable captions first.
And for Teams, we don’t rely on the Teams realtime API. We built an independent realtime audio transcription + translation workflow and render our own caption layer, so the same core experience can work across Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc.
