Introducing SoundPaste, the app that can copy-paste sound! Say goodbye to the tedious process of dealing with saving and opening sound files -- with SoundPaste, just record then copy-paste sound directly to your audio/video editing software.
Hey everyone,
I am very excited to announce SoundPaste: the app that can copy paste sound 🔊📋
What is it???
At its core, it's basically just an audio recorder that was developed with making audio recording as simple as possible in mind, by minimizing the actions a user has to take from hearing a sound on their computer to using it in their projects.
Why did you spend months of your life building an audio recorder??
I did this primarily because as someone who has always loved making videos and music, I would've really appreciated an easier way to sample audio.
If I heard something on the internet that I wanted to use in my own projects, it would always feel like a sort of undertaking just to get it. I'd have to install system audio drivers, open up audacity, change system inputs and outputs, record, trim the audio, I'd have to export and name it somewhere, then import it on the other side -- it felt like too much.
I even did a lot of searching for an app that could make this whole process easier -- but couldn't find anything. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and build one myself.
So what do you mean by "copy paste" sound?
Say you're watching an hour long video, and there's a nice sound effect somewhere in the middle that you want to use in your video/audio editing program -- but you don't want to download the whole hour long video for it. You just want to get that audio and use it as fast as possible without getting bogged down by logistics.
Imagine this:
1. You click play on the video right before the sound effect
2. Command-Option-R (begin recording)
3. When the sound effect ends, Command-Option-R (again to stop recording)
4. Scroll over to Premiere/Final Cut/your AV editing program of choice and Command-V
5. That's it! The audio you recorded just magically appears in the program, without having to save it, name it anything, drag it from a folder etc. You just "copy pasted" sound!
Hence the name SoundPaste -- the idea behind this app is to make the recording process super easy and painless, and enables media creators to spend less time on logistics and more time creating.
