SpaceLint is an explainable storage manager for Mac developers and local AI users. It scans Xcode, projects, package caches, Docker, models, apps, and leftovers—then shows why each item matched, its impact, risk, and recovery path before cleanup.

Hi Product Hunt — I’m Charles, the maker of SpaceLint and founder of Quartz.
SpaceLint started from a recurring problem on my development Mac: Xcode, project dependencies, package caches, Docker data, and local AI models could consume tens of gigabytes, but most cleanup tools didn’t clearly explain what each result was or what would happen after removing it.
I didn’t want to build another “one-click Mac cleaner.”
SpaceLint treats cleanup as a reviewable plan. For every result, it shows why it matched, its size and recent activity, whether it can be rebuilt, the expected impact and risk, and the available recovery path.
Eligible files can be placed in a same-volume 7-day quarantine with exact-path recovery. Ambiguous, protected, shared, or currently active data is kept out of automatic selection.
SpaceLint Free is permanent and includes unlimited supported scans, complete evidence, the menu bar resource panel, individual Xcode DerivedData cleanup, and History & Recovery.
SpaceLint Pro is a one-time $14.99 launch purchase. It unlocks batch Cleanup Plans, broader eligible cleanup actions, app uninstall with exact leftover review, custom project scan locations, and use on up to three personal Macs.
Scanning and cleanup happen locally. SpaceLint does not collect analytics, telemetry, filenames, project names, or browsing behavior.
I’d especially value your feedback on two questions:
1. Which developer storage category consumes the most space on your Mac?
2. What evidence would you need before trusting a cleanup action?
Thanks for checking out SpaceLint. I’ll be here to answer technical and safety questions throughout the launch.
