It’s especially super useful for trips, roommates, or group events where multiple people are paying for different things. One of the best parts is the variety of splitting options — you can split equally, by exact amounts, by percentages, shares, or customize it however you need. That flexibility makes it really convenient for different situations. The interface is clean and easy to understand, and adding expenses takes only a few seconds.

What needs improvement

There is a limited amount of expenses you can enter sequentially in unpaid option, tbh kind of annoying

Is multi-currency support accurate and convenient?

Yes

Do non-techy friends find the app intuitive?

Yes, I used with all of my Erasmus friends, very convenient

What's great

This is a great product that allows us to split our yearly trip expenses appropriately. One of the great feature of this product is that this product allows transactions between any number of individuals in a group to be recorded and finally it rolls up all amounts in a way that is easy to settle. Have been an avid user of this app for many years!

I am not sure. We usually settle using payment methods outside of this app.

Useful for me for tracking expenses across friends and family especially on trips. Challenges are 1) if the person doesn't have a profile its a bit annoying 2) the free version has really changed now and is almost impossible to use with the restrictions in place 3) i wish i could customize currency conversions and show balances properly in just one currency

I've been using Splitwise Pro (paid version) for years. I usually organize the groups and transactions but now that the Free version now has a 2-3 transaction per day limit anyone that doesn't have Pro is barely able to use the application. In addition they added 10 second ads between those 2-3 transactions.

Splitwise has made expense tracking so simple for my team and me. I use it to manage shared costs during team outings and group projects. It keeps everything organized and fair without any awkward conversations. We all rely on it now. It’s one of my favorite go-to apps.

splitwise is very stable and has a lot of features, but not snap and scan as far as i know. this would be an interesting addition--- but i'm also intrigued by splitty so I'll probably take a look at it! will just be a little difficult to get buy in from friends after we've all been on the splitwise platform for 3+ years.

Switched to Venmo a while ago because it was limiting the free tier. Used Splitwise again recently for a group expense. Looks like the free tier is not as limited as it used to be. I like Splitwise better than Venmo if not for those limitations.

It's reallly good for splitting, has some smart feature where you can just enter some text and a number and it will know what they means. HOWEVER recently they put a limit, you can only add like 4 transactions per day, seemingly to push you to upgrade. So im quite sad that i cannot use it for free. i will consider other products before i can judge if it's worth it to pay for this service
