SquashImage compresses JPEG, PNG, and WebP images by measuring real visual similarity (SSIM) instead of using a flat quality setting. Basically it only compresses as much as each image can actually tolerate. Free for single images, Pro unlocks batch upload and API access.
Small update on SquashImage. A few people who tried it early gave me genuinely useful feedback, so wanted to share what changed.
Biggest one: you can now see an actual before and after example right on the homepage before uploading anything. Someone pointed out you basically had to just trust it worked, which is a fair complaint for a tool that's asking you to upload your photos.
Also added a little privacy panel so it's clear what actually happens to your images — they're not stored, and location/camera metadata gets stripped automatically. That was already true, I just hadn't bothered saying it anywhere.
There's a "how it works" page now too, walking through the actual logic instead of just "trust me, it compresses good."
On the practical side: batch upload now handles up to 100 images at once instead of 50, and the first 100 people who sign up get free batch access permanently, no subscription needed.
Still just me building this in whatever hours I can find. If you tried it early and something felt off or missing, genuinely want to hear it because that's basically how this update happened.

Couple updates, I've now added zip folder downloads for user ease when compressing batches of images. I also modernised the look and feel just a little bit. I also fixed a couple bugs.
